dr. leslie roberts
Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Founder of West Michigan Psychological Services, & advocate for child-centered family support.
Dr. Leslie Roberts has spent more than two decades sitting alongside families during some of the hardest moments of their lives. Long before earning her doctorate, she was working in community mental health programs, crisis homes, and directly within family systems impacted by trauma, abuse, and high conflict. Much of her early work took place in clients’ homes, supporting parents involved with Child Protective Services and advocating for children who needed stability, safety, and hope.
Over the years, that work evolved into a deeper commitment to understanding the emotional and psychological dynamics that shape families during times of crisis. After earning her PhD in Clinical Psychology with a forensic specialization, Dr. Roberts conducted psychological evaluations for the State of Michigan and worked extensively within complex family and court systems. Through it all, one truth became increasingly clear: children are often the ones most affected when conflict goes unresolved.
In 2020, Dr. Roberts founded West Michigan Psychological Services with a vision of creating accessible, compassionate, and high-quality mental health care for individuals and families across West Michigan. What began as a growing practice quickly expanded into a multi-location organization focused not only on client care, but also on mentoring and developing future clinicians.
Today, Dr. Roberts is expanding her work beyond traditional therapy and forensic roles into divorce coaching, education, and advocacy. Her mission is to help parents navigate difficult transitions with greater clarity, emotional awareness, and a child-centered focus, before lasting damage occurs.
At the heart of her work is the belief that even life’s most difficult seasons can become turning points for healing, resilience, and growth.
Dr. Roberts believes that families deserve support before conflict escalates into long-term emotional harm. Her work combines psychological expertise with practical guidance, emotional insight, and a deeply compassionate approach rooted in protecting children and strengthening families through difficult transitions.
She is known for balancing honesty with empathy, helping clients move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and emotional stability.
